How To Make Sure That Your Articles Are Shared On Social Networks?

The current trend is inbound marketing: the customer is attracted to you instead of you looking for him. This translates into several techniques including writing content that interests your target audience. The problem is that you are not the only one to offer this type of content and it is increasingly difficult to stand out. I am offering you a few tips to boost the sharing of your articles to gain visibility on social networks!

1 - Add the right sharing buttons

There are two types of users:

  1. Those who will share your article without reading it (or at least having read only the title)
  2. Those who will read it entirely with more attention

You can therefore offer your buttons at the top and bottom of your article to facilitate sharing for these two types of readers. To avoid taking up too much space, you can put smaller sharing buttons at the top.

The buttons with a counter are very interesting, because they also favor the "shares", on the condition that the counter is unlocked ... nobody likes to be the first to comment or to share an article. For that, do not forget to share them on your own social networks.

2 - Create articles in list form: "TOP 10..."

This is a format that works pretty well right now, BuzzFeed for example has made it a specialty. These articles are simple and easy to read. By reading only the titles, your reader will have a summary of the information.

Be careful however to use it sparingly. It may bring you traffic with people who are not very much engaged, but could attentive users.

3 - Ask people to share, like or RT (reTweet)

According to various articles that I have read, and by monitoring my own results, it is enough to ask for your article to be shared for it to receive more likes and benefit from more shares and reTweets. It is therefore possible to have either comments, reTweets or additional likes just by asking. Be careful, it's pretty tricky to do it, it's up to you to find the right words and above all, do not overdo it!

4 - Start your title with "How to"

We use search engines to find solutions to our everyday problems. Starting your articles with "How to" will ask the same question as the user and answer them as accurately as possible. If they consider that you have answered their problem, they will not hesitate to share their discovery to help their entourage!

5 - Tell a story

Story telling is about telling a story (no... really?) while sharing emotions to build a relationship. This will allow your readers to see your business from a different angle.

6 - Create infographics

Infographics are hugely successful because information is synthesized and enhanced. They are also very easily shared!

7 - With this trick, you will reach the moon!

So here it is, we arrived to something even more delicate: sensational titles that "trap" the reader somehow. Some sites that are paid by the ad sometimes abuse of it... So I advise not to abuse it at the risk of recieving bad comments or resulting in a counterproductive effect.

Thanks for reading this far. Now let me see if you have learned your lesson: what did I say about liking, sharing and commenting? If you remember, then please like this post and comment, I will be very much grateful.

It is ok to ask for likes and for your article to be shared so you get more likes. You can put sharing buttons at the top or bottom of your article. Good to know. Thanks for the information, I will bookmark it for later.
Marylou

Thanks for your comment Marylou. That's right, and there are also floating buttons that follow the reader as he/she goes down the page. The main thing is to make sure not to annoy the reader, so the key is to be present but discreet.

Best wishes,

Fantastic advice that I will take on board and use. The top 10 article would be one of the easiest to write too in my opinion. Thanks very much.

That's right David, but remember... in moderation.
