Thanks very much for your comment and questions Cathy. Pop-up, pop-under, exit-pop-up, end-of-the-page optin? A lot of techniques to collect emails, and more are created as we speak. 

Personally, I prefer the non invasive form which is the end-of-the-page optin. But it is not necessarily the most effective. One that I use on many of my blogs is the discreet SlideSense by LeadsLeap.
