As for getting backlinks from authority sites, you do not have to be embarrassed about asking for them. It is something normal to do and website owners do that all the time. There is only one way to go about that, is to contact the owner of the website from which you would like to have a backlink from, and ask. Only 3 things that might happen is that:

1 – they agree 

2 – they don’t agree

3 – they don’t bother to answer

So, where is the risk?

And finally, yes, I use the EWWW Image Optimiser plugin as well (I also use WordPress for my website). It is the only one that I have ever used. I am very happy with it and have no reasons for changing.

That’s right, Guest Posting is a great way to get backlinks, but it is not the only way either. One that works also very well is by posting comments on Social Media. Have you tried that?

Moz is a company based in the US that develops and sells various SEO products, used for inbound marketing, analytics, and more. It is not just a spying tool, although it is used for that, among other things.

I’m also keen to hear about your strategies for getting backlinks from authority sites. How do you go about doing this? It seems daunting to me to randomly approach people. Is there a better way? 

Re site speed, I have a WordPress site and I’ve always found the EWWW Image Optimiser plugin good to reduce the size of images. Do you use this plugin, or do you use another plugin for images
