How To Write Tweets That Will Get Retweets — 8 Comments

  1. Hi, thank you for sharing!
I am new to twitter and still don’t know how to make followers. I’m already following someone but didn’t have a follow back.
Do you think that using hashtags and posting my articles or something else consistently can help me make followers? How does it correctly work?

    • Hi Marta,

Nice seeing you here Marta, and thanks for taking the time to comment. To start getting followers to your Twitter account, the first thing to do is to write a great Twitter profile that describes exactly what your niche is about. You can also include a few hashtags (#), don’t overdo it though, I would say not more than two or three hashtags. Then start following a dozen people that have the same interest as you have. At the beginning, you will be limited in the number of people you can follow. Make sure not to overdo it, so that Twitter doesn’t shut your account down. Whatever you do, never ever buy followers, they will be 99% fake, therefore useless to you, and you will damage your credibility.

You really cannot expect that everyone you follow will follow you back, so if you follow someone and that person doesn’t follow you back, let’s say within a week or so, un-follow him/her, so that you can follow more. Ideally the number of your followers should remain higher that the number of people you are following. Follow back those that are following you if they are of interest to you and your niche.

Post useful tweets regularly, not always promotional messages. Make use of appropriate hashtags in order to reach people interested in your niche.

If you have any questions Marta, please make sure to ask them here so that we can all benefit of the answers you will receive.

I wish you the very best with your online venture and social marketing.

  2. I recently signed up for a twitter account for my niche website, I have only 50 followers, but one of my posts got 9 retweets and has almost 2400 impressions.

Since then I’ve been finding ways to get more retweets, your content really helps. I will try to make most of my tweets between 71 to 100 characters. Thanks!!

Wow! A really good start with your new Twitter account Daniel. It does show that it is not the number of followers that you have that is the most important, and you just have it right. Well done!

  3. Hi John,

Thanks for your inspiring article on Tweeting! I do not have a Twitter account, as I really did not see the whole point of it – trying to fit some thoughts into 140 characters (or less as you clarified).

I recently started blogging, and perhaps now it’s time to consider joining yet another social network. Do you have some success stories to share on benefits of retweets for bloggers?

    • Thanks very much for visiting my website Simo, and for commenting on “How To Write Tweets That Will Get Retweets”.

If you are blogging you must join several social accounts, starting with Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Pinterest. If you are in business and want your business to be known, you need to share it on social media. Otherwise, how will people know what you are doing and selling? You cannot depend on SEO alone!

So Simo, start by creating a Twitter account related to your niche and start following people that are interested in what you are doing. Whenever you write a blog, share it, let people know what you have spent a lot of time writing about. You just need a few words to invite your followers to visit your blog.

There are no success stories “on the benefits of retweets for bloggers” Simo, it is a must have, a normal thing to do in business.

Let me know if you have any questions and I wish you the very best.

  4. Hey this was a really good article, i use twitter a lot and i always use hashtags. It is getting harder to keep growing i would gain some new followers each day but then lose some. I like to use Fivver to have someone retweet my tweet that has a lot of followers and that helps too so i can get noticed. The hardest part is growing your social media to the point where you have loyal followers.

    • Thanks for reading my article about How To Write Tweets That Will Get Retweets Justin. Making use of #tags enables you to reach a huge number of closely targeted Twitter members, so, you don’t really need to have a lot of followers yourself.

Fiverr is a good place to hire the services of someone who has large Twitter accounts and is willing to share your message with their followers. But you must be very careful as there are some Fiverr sellers who boast to have a followers’ list of hundreds of thousands, even millions, but most of them are fake or inactive followers, therefore of no use to your business.

As a matter of fact, I have been offering my services on Fiverr since 2011 and have Twitter accounts in the 100,000+ real and active followers and have been helping thousands of very happy and returning clients. Here is my most popular gig: I Will Help Get Traffic To Your Website, Blog, Etc I use it myself to promote my own businesses as well as this blog.

A word of caution though Justin: never, ever buy Twitter followers, I can guarantee you that they will be in the tune of 90% fake, I know that for fact as I have been marketing on Twitter since 2009.

Let me know if you have any questions.

      John ツ
