How To Be An Affiliate Without A Website — 14 Comments

  1. This was a really interesting article but i do believe that having a website is the best way to go. My social media presence is not that big yet so i wouldnt really benefit from posting affiliate links on there. It would be a lot harder to bring in passive income without a website.

    • Thanks for your interesting comment Justin. Personally, I have been promoting affiliate programs directly on social networks for years, and I still do it successfully. I don’t mean that it is the easiest way to do that, there is also a learning curve, as there is with creating and promoting a website. To clear your mind, and that of my readers, you don’t need a large number of followers for it to work. You just have to make use of hashtags (#) to multiply you reach on Twitter for example and on other social platforms. I have recently written a blog post on the subject: Successful Social Media Hashtag Campaigns

Social media marketing can be useful for those who find it difficult to build their own websites, although, there is an excellent training program called Wealthy Affiliate which is free to join where anyone can learn how to create a website and to monetize it.

I look forward to seeing you here again soon Justin, and if you have not done so yet, I invite your to signup for my newsletter so that you will be notified the minute a new article is posted, and there are some very exciting ones coming up soon.

I wish you the very best.

  2. Hi, the structure of the article ”how to be an affiliate without a website” is great. Also, the pictures, hyperlinks and various tools are used broadly to make this on-line article function well as a whole to ask new starters to join the Wealthy Affiliate programme. But, the topics and the bullet points in the WA campaign need to be more specified, clear and condensed as a whole picture.

  3. Thanks for visiting my website and for commenting. I do take my readers suggestions into consideration and will look into your input as soon as possible.

    Thanks again,

  4. Hi,

From my research you can be an affiliate without a website by promote through social media,  while becoming an affiliate marketer doesn’t require you to own a blog or website, it does require that you have an online presence. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts can be a good start. Create an e-book, you can promote through forums or online communities, use existing traffic,  work with affiliate programs that don’t require having a website like clickbank, amazon.

    Thank you.

    Aluko.

    • That is correct Aluko, having a website is only one way to promote affiliate programs. I have been promoting affiliate programs for the past 20 years and most of my income is coming from social networks, email marketing and dishing out free ebooks, such as the “One Signup A Day Strategy“.

Thanks for being a regular reader of my blog posts Aluko and I look forward to seeing you here often.

Take care, stay safe and healthy,

  5. Hey John, i just want to say thank you for using the platform you have to help others that wants to earn an income online, I appreciate you, This year i have been experimenting heavy with affiliate marketing and i realized that all you really need is a platform of any but having a website does making things a bit more simple. Thanks again!

    • Thanks for sharing your views about having a website or not to be an affiliate Sevian. As I was explaining to Aluko, it is not an obligation, it is just one way of promoting affiliate programs. In reality, it is up to you to use the channel you feel more comfortable with. Building a website or blog for that purpose demands a lot of work though but it is definitely rewarding.

I wish you the very best for your online projects Sevian.

      Stay safe and healthy,

      John

  6. Doesn´t everybody want to retire early?  I certainly do.  What a terrific site this is John, packed with some innovative and really helpful advice to achieve this.  I was really fascinated with the ideas regarding how you could be an affiliate without having a website.  Social networks are ubiquitous these days so this makes a lot of sense. But how do you advertise on your social media without annoying y9our friends or losing followers due to all the “adverts”.  I have found that has been an issue with my old FB account. The e-book suggestion sounds really interesting, and something I would like to explore. I like a lot of these suggestions.  I´m saving the url.  Please get back to me regarding my FB query.

    • Thanks for the compliments Trevor, and for visiting my website often. One thing that most affiliate marketers forget about social media is that they are primarily intended for socializing. Gone are the days when we could promote your affiliate links nonstop and directly on the social platforms, for the good reason that they are now selling their advertising space so, obviously they will not let you advertise for free too often, this is probably why you ran into trouble with your Facebook account, right?

Therefore, you have to use your social platforms to give free advise to your fans and followers, no URL, especially an affiliate URL! And no point “cloaking” it, they are smarter than you may think.

Yes, from time to time a link back to a web page is acceptable but like everything in life, with moderation. Otherwise, communicate freely, have your link in your profile, people who like what your are sharing will know how to contact you.

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions, okay Trevor?

      Cheers for now,

      John
