InboxPounds scam or not?

You have come across InboxPounds and you are wondering whether it is a scam. Or is it safe to take a chance going for it? Good question! So, to help you make your decision, I have researched Internet-based money making opportunity and compiled this review for you.

As you have landed on this review, I can guess that you are trying to find a way to earn some money online. Either it is to help paying your monthly bills, to try kissing you awful boss goodbye. Or because you have just been made redundant, or might soon be, etc.

Let’s be honest … we all tend to spend far too many hours a day online doing personal stuff and entertainment instead of attending to productive matters.

If we are not careful, the Internet can become our new addiction. But, with a bit of control it can be otherwise. As you are reading this review you are most like to be one of those who appreciate that Internet can be a great tool to make some money.

For you, I have examined the InboxPounds money making platform. I have analyzed a few methods this company argues you will be able to earn some money while spending some time on the Internet. By the end of this analysis you will know whether InboxPounds is a scam or not.

So, if you are ready, let’s get on with it …

1 – About InboxPounds

InboxPounds is a company which is operating on the Internet that pays users for a number of online operations. They belong to a company by the name of InboxPounds Ltd, which is registered in England and Wales. Their American counterpart is InboxDollars. The American company was created by Daren Cotter around the year 2000.

The purpose of this platform was to set up a bridge which would link advertisers to the consumers. They associate themselves with advertisers who wish to reach consumers who have an interest in their products. InboxPounds gets compensation for this sort of service; and share it with the consumer who is taking part in the scheme (which may be you).

2 – How can you earn with InboxPounds?

There are many ways by which you can earn some money with InboxPounds. Here they are:

• By conducting online searches
• While completing surveys
• Reading e-mails
• Playing some games
• And sometimes by testing products

Once your earnings have reached a minimum of UK£20 (UK£ means British Pound), which is equal to about US$30, you can receive payment. You need to request your payment once your balance reaches £20, they don’t automatically send it to you. Payments are processed only once a week, every Wednesdays. It will take at least eight days for your payment to be processed after you have made the request. Your payment cheque will then be sent to you at the address you have mentioned in your account details.

One thing that you may not know is that InboxPounds is not the only platform where you can earn some money doing just about the same operations. Other places are:

• FusionCash
• SurveyJunkie
• SwagBucks
• and of course, InboxDollars

3 – How much cash can you earn at InboxPounds?

This depends on what you decide to do. First, they will pay you £1 when you signup. Then another £0.50 when you activate your account and set up your profile.

The commission rates varies from survey to survey, but it ranges between £0.20 up to £0.50 for the standard surveys. But when you participate in the MySurvey panel, you increase your survey earnings capability to between £1 and £5 per survey.

If you were to signup with FreeStuff.eu, you would get £0.60. Some tasks are available which pays between £0.02 and £0.10. They will also pay for reading e-mails and for playing games. However, I find that the pay structure for these fields of activity are not very clear. They also give cashback for shopping online with partnering retailers, such as Banana Republic, Gap and Best Buy.

4 – InboxPounds tips and tricks

One way to legitimately make some money with InboxPounds is to refer other people. InboxPounds then shares 10% of the earnings of your referrals with you. Which is an excellent way to earn some money while not having to actually do the tasks that don’t really pay that much on it’s own. This option naturally brings us to following chapter …

5 – There are complaints facing InboxPounds

This is a chapter that will get you to decide whether or not it is worth spending your time working for this company.

As the title suggests, InboxPounds has its share of complaints coming from users. Going through them it seems that it is not that easy to receive payment for what you are due by them.

I don’t know if you have done some work for someone before and had to fight to get paid you hard earned money. If not, I can tell you that there is nothing more demoralizing.

Especially when the pay is so little for a job that requires sometimes quite a bit of time. In most cases, it will take sometimes months, or even years for you to reach the minimum payout amount.

Make it to “Gold” …

Unless you have reached the level of “Gold” member you will have to work hard and a lot to make enough money for you to receive your pay cheque. So don’t bank on that to pay your monthly bills just yet.

Once you have made it to “Gold”, it will become easier, but till then, be ready to work a lot for very little.

There are also many complaints from members who are saying that once they have made it to the “Gold” level, the job proposals stop coming. So, working for InboxPounds could be quite stressful. Not only you have to work your butt off for close to earning peanuts, but you have to watch your balance earned to remember to ask them to please pay you, then, keep watching your mailbox to make sure that your pay cheque has been posted.

If you really want to do that kind of work, in my opinion, it would be better if you joined several other similar sites such as InboxDollars, SwagBucks, SurveyJunkie and FusionCash in order to create multiple streams of income where you could earn even more by doing the same jobs that InboxPounds offers you without remaining short of jobs.

But, to me it is still an insecure income activity. If you need a more regular income that comes automatically into your bank account without having to ask for it, this is not what you should be looking at.

6 – Where is my cheque?

This is one of the most common complaints posted by members. And there seems to be no answer to why these pay cheques are not reaching the hands of the members. In most cases InboxPounds members are finding it difficult to track down their money. Resulting in having a large number of members to forget about the whole thing all together.

7 – Who said the offers were totally FREE?

InboxPounds are partnering with some advertisers who are supposed to send you “FREE” samples so that you can try and write a review, okay? But the only way that you can get these products is after you have paid a postage and handling charge. So how can you call those samples FREE if you are asked to pay shipping fee? Many will agree with me that this is flagrant dissimulation.

8 – What is this survey disqualification?

You will find that InboxPounds offers several ways to make some money, but one that is the most used or recommended are surveys. But here is the problem …

Their surveys will only pay you a few pennies for a minimum of 30 minutes work, or even more. And it is also assumed that you have actually fully completed the surveys.

It is often reported by the survey takers that they get disqualified when getting close to 30 minutes through the survey. When that happens, you will realize that you have just wasted 30 minutes of your time for nothing. Not a very pleasant situation!

9 – Keep working, or else …

Better not take a break my friend, because after you have becomes inactive for a while, they will close down your business. If you read carefully InboxPounds’ TOS, you think that it is alright to go on a holiday and that your money will be there waiting for you when you come back, but … NO!

Their TOS affirms that they will pay you what you have earned, no matter what. But, as it is quite difficult to get in touch with them, again, it is less time consuming to forget about it than to obtain a response.

10 – And finally, is InboxPounds a Scam?

At first sight, there is no reason to believe that InboxPounds is a scam. You join, you receive the tasks you wanted to complete, you execute them and check your stats. Your income appears as promised. When you reach the minimum of £20 (about $30 depending on the rate of exchange), you request your payment.

All is going well so far. Nothing looks like InboxPounds may be a scam … until you have a complaint, and can’t reach anyone in their support system.

But this doesn’t mean that InboxPounds is a scam! It is only a question of poor organization, a lousy management … as long as it is not intentional.

Personally, I wouldn’t waste my time with that kind of money making opportunity. The pay is so low that you will never be able feed yourself and your family even if you worked at it 24 hours a day.

Okay, if you are only looking for some spare cash and are ready to work for it a lot, it may be for you. But, if you are more ambitious than that and need more than just petty cash to pay your bills and take your family on some dream holidays, there are other ways to do it, trust me.

If you dream of a better future for you and your family, a dream like I had a few years back, then you should know how to develop the mentality of a winner. If you are limiting yourself to earning crumbs, you will earn crumbs. But, if you have a greater vision of your future, you will achieve just that.

The choice is yours.
